COMING SOON – Cocktail Bar & Lounge

We are currently in the process of creating a cocktail bar & lounge area. We are very excited to be able to create this wonderful space & as it is in the neighbouring property it means that it’s business as usual here & the restaurant remains unaffected. We will let you know when we’re ready to get the cocktails shaking!




The Story So Far …

In the heart of Great Bentley sits ‘Restaurant 43’ designed and built by restaurateur Mark Moorcroft, his wife Dawn & their two daughters Scarlett & Ruby.

Soon after opening in 2012, the restaurant was lucky enough to secure Head Chef Simon Humm, who relocated from London where he was Head Chef for 10 years for The Roux Brothers – Michel & Albert. Not long after this, Simon was joined by his twin brother Marc Humm who had been at Heston’s – Fat Duck & Marcus Wareing at the Berkley. They have worked hard to create an amazing reputation, not only for the restaurant, but for themselves & are well respected amongst other chef’s. They are the ONLY twin chef’s working together in the country & alongside their brigade form an amazing team.

R43 was the dream and now reality of this local family, who promote the restaurant together as a relaxed eatery where you can escape the real world and be entertained in Great Bentley’s best kept secret, for now. With beautifully designed menus (using their own home-grown produce) and happy, helpful staff their really is no other place to be.

Restaurant 43’s returning clientele established themselves within the first month’; and now 5 years in, the family are wonderfully busy captivating their new & existing friends with a host of professional singers, flaming dishes, exquisite food and relaxed chatter. A new garden has been added to the Restaurant 43 portfolio & this is another space that Mark was very passionate about. With a great ‘holiday vibe’, pizza oven, cocktails & open kitchen it is truly stunning.
