The Story So Far …

In the heart of Great Bentley sits ‘Restaurant 43’ designed and built by restaurateur Mark Moorcroft, his wife Dawn & their two daughters Scarlett & Ruby.

Soon after opening in 2012, the restaurant was lucky enough to secure Head Chef Simon Humm, who relocated from London where he was Head Chef for 10 years for The Roux Brothers – Michel & Albert. In the last 6 years Simon has worked hard to create an amazing reputation, not only for the restaurant, but for himself & is well respected within the chef community. Alongside his brigade, they form a formidable team.

R43 was the dream and now reality of this local family, who promote the restaurant together as a relaxed eatery where you can escape the real world and be entertained in Great Bentley’s best kept secret, for now. With beautifully designed menus (using their own home-grown produce) and happy, helpful staff their really is no other place to be.

Restaurant 43’s returning clientele established themselves within the first month’; and now 6 years in, the family are wonderfully busy captivating their new & existing friends with a host of professional singers, flaming dishes, exquisite food and relaxed chatter. A beautiful garden with outside seating was added in 2015 & this is another space that Mark was very passionate about. With a great ‘holiday vibe’, BBQ, cocktails & open kitchen it is truly stunning. In recent months the family worked hard to create a lounge area where  diners can enjoy pre or post dinner drinks adding another string to the R43 bow.
