Our chefs use only the finest, locally sourced ingredients in all of our homemade dishes. We have our very own chefs’ garden & are able to provide the restaurant with our own-grown fruits, vegetables & salads.
Our kitchen is fitted with the latest in cooking technology meaning that our brigade of talented chefs have all of the equipment needed to ensure that our amazing ingredients can be prepared and cooked to perfection
We believe that first impressions count and that you can absolutely eat with your eyes so not only do we concentrate on the taste but we have a few tricks up our sleeve when it comes to presentation too.

“I have been with the team @ R43 since October 2012. I previously worked in London for ten years for Roux fine dining; working my way up to Head chef. Whilst there i was given the opportunity to work alongside some amazing chefs; Dan Cox who is currently working for Simon Rogan at Lenclume and David Simms formerly of the Le Gavroche, to name a few. My role in London also gave me the opportunity & privilege to cook for London executives, Royalty & MP’s on a regular basis. I am originally from Colchester and felt it was time for me to come back to my roots and R43 is proving to be the perfect platform for me to further my career and make a name for myself locally & i am sure, in time, further afield too.”
